Spring Butterfly Wing Nails

I have had the butterfly wing design on my nail to-do list for a long time. I was looking online at nail art for inspiration on what to do, and I came across a butterfly wing picture. I thought to myself, 'I'm going to finally do these!' I was trying to figure out what colors I wanted to use, and I decided to use a spring-y color. I picked out a few, and couldn't decide. So, I used them all. Haha. I chose to do a gradient. Light blue and light yellow on one hand, and light blue and a light coral on the other hand. I really loved the way these turned out, and do have a tutorial on them. It will be down below.

Sinful Colors - Soul Mate

Just bought this at Walmart. I LOVE this color. It's basically a dusty rosy pink color. That's how I'd describe it anyways. This was $1.99.

Vintage Rose Nails

I have decided to give the vintage rose design a try. It is a very pretty design  and I can't believe it took me so long to try it out. It is a very easy design to achieve, and I have filmed a tutorial. It is inserted below.

I chose to use a pastel yellow base, for two reasons. 1. My boyfriend purchased the new Sinful Colors Sugar Rush collection for me. I wanted to do swatches for this blog, and I already owned one of the colors in the display. That color is Unicorn, a pastel yellow. I figured I would use it for this design, so I can photograph some swatch pictures. Plus, I think this particular color goes great with the design. 2. Almost everyone who has done this design has used a minty color. I've even seen some blue, purple, and pink based ones. However, I had never seen a yellow based vintage rose design before. All he more reason to use Unicorn.

Now, on to the design. Just a brief list of what I used: Light green, green, pink, and red acrylic paint. As well as a pastel yellow polish, and a glitter polish. I also use a striping brush, and a dotting tool.

NOTE: I photographed these nails before I decided to use a glitter polish.

Marvel's Avengers Nails

Last week, I received a request through Tumblr for Marvel nails. Marvel is the big comic book company who are to thank for all the movies I, I mean we, love so much ! Just a few off the top of my head: Spiderman, Iron Man, Thor, The Incredible Hulk, The Avengers. My favorite Marvel movie, and superhero movie all together is The Avengers. So, considering that, I chose to do a design based on the Avengers.

I chose to go with the main four superhero's (Iron Man, Thor, Captain America, and the Hulk), w/ the Avengers logo on the thumb. I had been searching the internet for inspiration, and came across some pictures that helped me formulate this design. I have decided to share those with you.

I found these both on google. The second one does include some DC heroes  however I saved it for the background designs. I thought those looked good.

     Now for the design !

I am not even going to attempt to try to list all the steps to do these nails, or try to list all the polishes I used. There were so many steps, and so many polishes used. However, I might do individual tutorials for each nail on my Youtube channel in the future.

Salon Perfect Nail Polish (Flamingo Flair)

I took a trip to Walmart today. I hadn't actually been to this particular Walmart in several months. Last time I was there, they were smack in the middle of remodeling, it was chaos ! However, they have finished remodeling now, and this was my first time shopping there since it was done. Aside from becoming a 'super' Walmart, they also started carrying new brands. I noticed a lot of beauty products that they used not to sell, including Salon Perfect nail polishes.

The first Salon Perfect polish I had seen was part of a display. I thought they were pretty, but not enough for their price ($4). However, a bit after I had seen that display, I came across the basic line (placed somewhere else). I immediately fell in love with a certain color, and didn't care that it was $4. I HAD TO HAVE IT ! The color I am talking about, of course, is 'Flamingo Flair'. I would describe it as a neon coral color.

This polish is amazing, right ? RIGHT ! However, it isn't perfect. As with a lot of other neon pinks I have, this one doesn't always apply smoothly. There were a few nails I had to add three coats to just to smooth out the color. I would normally say that this polish isn't worth four dollars, BUT I have never seen a color quite like this one. I am willing to work with it, I love it that much.

I did NOT use a white base. Just a base coat, and on average three coats of polish.
