NOTD: Jack Skellington Nails

My all time favorite movie is The Nightmare Before Christmas. Jack Skellington is also one of my favorite Disney characters. Plus, Jack & Sally are my favorite fictional couple. So, you can imagine how much I love The Nightmare Before Christmas. I thought a NBC themed design would be great for Halloween. I did Jack themed nails.
I know they aren't perfect, but I love them regardless ! Happy Halloween !

L.A. Colors 'Jewel Tone' (over black)

I have had a long busy weekend, and my previous design peeled off on one finger. I could not just leave my nails like that, but I was tired. Considering this, I chose something simple, yet gorgeous. What I decided to do was top a glitter polish over black, and I chose an L.A. Colors glitter. I love this look. It's gorgeous.

Polish Used
1. Sinful Colors - Black on Black
2. L.A. Colors - Jewel Tone

NOTD: Cupcake Nails

The inspiration from this look came from a blog I follow on Tumblr. It's a nail blog, and they have weekly themes. Where people do designs on their nails to go with the theme for that week, and at the end of the week the blog puts up a vote including all the submissions. On Saturday's whoever has the most votes wins, and their submission is the blogs profile picture until the next week when someone else wins. If that made sense. ANYWAYS, this weeks theme is cupcake nails, for the bloggers birthday. & I wanted to submit a picture, so I of course had to do cupcake nails. I put A LOT OF WORK into this design. A LOT. Took me about an hour per hand.

Anyways, enough blib-blab. Here is the design I came up with.

Cute right? I LOVE THIS DESIGN ! I think I might wear it for a week, and I usually paint my nails every other day.

Liebster Award!

I was checking my comments on here, like I always do when I notice I have a new one. I came across a new one on a recent post, and it so happened to be from from PackAPunchPolish ! Hello, PACKAPUNCHPOLISH ! I love watching her Youtube videos, and I read all her blog posts, and she nominated me. Seriously, how cool is that !

Anyways, I had absolutely no idea what 'being nominated for the liesbster award' meant, so thank goodness she explained it in her blog post. To my understanding, when you're nominated, the person that nominated you asks you 11 questions, you answer them. Plus, you post 11 fun facts about yourself. Then, you nominate 11 other bloggers (who have under 200 followers), with 11 questions in your post for them to answer.

In her blog post she has the questions for the bloggers she nominated to answer. She added the link to her post in the comment. & I'll add the post here --> http://packapunchpolish.blogspot.com/2012/09/liebster-award.html

11 fun facts about myself
  1. I have a ton of hobbies, too many if you ask me. (nail art, makeup, crafting, baking, tattoo's)

NOTD: Cube Gradient

I came across a tutorial on Youtube of a 3D cube design, and I loved it ! I had to try it out on my own nails !  The youtuber that posted the video is CTCCnails, and here is her tutorial http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IRg-Hj8jbkM&feature=my_liked_videos&list=LLBCXtNaZpys29lubO2wtoZg

Every time I use another persons design, I try my best to make it different. I don't like taking someone's exact design. So, I decided to do pastel gradients as my background for the cubes. Here is the design I came up with.

Polish Haul! (Sally Hansen, Sinful Colors, Wet N' Wild, etc)

Have I got a polish haul for you guys ! These were not all purchased at the same time. This is a collective haul from the past two weeks.

My first stop was at Rite Aid. I had a dollar off coupon for the Maybelline Color Show polish. Plus, there was the new fall collection out. PLUS, Maybelline is one of the brands in the Glam Camp promotion. & I decided to pick up 'Boho Glam'. I ended up only paying $2.19 for this.
(Boho Gold)

Then, I went to Family Dollar to pick up some nail polish remover, and or course, had to look at the polish. I came across this green color by L.A. Colors, called 'Palm Tree', and I just HAD to have it ! As you probably already know, this was $1.
(Palm Tree)

Then, I took another trip to rite aid to spend the rest of the $15 towards the glam camp promotion. I picked up three Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear polishes, and one Jesse's Girl polish. The Xtreme Wears were $2.39 a piece, and the Jesse's Girl was on clearance for $1.50.
(Pink Satin, In The Spotlight, Celeb City)

(Carolina Beach)

Then, I took a trip to Walgreens. (Since Sinful Colors is 99 cents again this week). & I picked up five Sinful Colors polishes, and one Pure Ice polish. All of the polishes were $0.99.
(Zincing of You, Super Nova, Hot Hot Heat, Gone Platinum, Precious Metal)

(Twinkle)

Finally I stopped at Kmart just to browse at what was new. & guess what ! They had their Halloween stuff out, including the Halloween makeup displays ! I came across the Fantasy Makers display, and had to get one of the tombstone polishes ! I also, got a glitter, but we'll get to that in a moment. The polish was $1.99, and the glitter was $2.99.
(Once Upon a Time)

Like I mentioned just a moment ago, I also got a glitter. Which is right here,

Now, let me just tell you a short story. I have tried twice to make a 'franken polish' or 'DIY polish', and those attempts failed misserably. The glitter always sank, and the polish was hard to mix up. I bought this glitter to use as another attempt at making a glitter polish. I did infact already try it, and it does separate, BUT it very easy to shake back up, and it takes much longer to separate.  This glitter is wonderful to use for the DIY glitter polishes.
(Here is the glitter, and the polish with the glitter in it)
(A blurrier version, you can see the holographic much better)
(Compared to Wet N' Wild's Kaleidoscope ~ Left - Kaleidoscope, Right - DIY Glitter)

NOTD: Rainbow Saran Wrap

A very good friend of mine posted a nail tutorial on her Youtube channel. The tutorial was for saran wrap nails. If you don't know what saran wrap nails are, or how to do them, I'll give you a brief how to. First paint your nails a base color. Then drop some polish on scrap paper, and take some saran wrap (plastic wrap) and dab into your blob of polish. Dab a bit off on the paper first, and then dab it onto your nails. Since you're using saran wrap, the color you're dabbing will not cover the base color you put on. Here is the design I came up with using this technique.
I decided to do a rainbow effect, instead of one base color, and dabbed the black on with the saran wrap.I really love the look of this. Definitely a design I'll do again !

Polishes Used
(from left to right)
  1. Wet N' Wild - Kaleidoscope
  2. Sinful Colors - Black on Black
  3. Sinful Colors - Energetic Red
  4. Sinful Colors - Clementine
  5. Sinful Colors - Pull Over
  6. Sinful Colors - Innocent
  7. Sinful Colors - Why Not
  8. Sinful Colors - Amethyst
  9. Wet N' Wild - Lavender Creme
